The EU CLP new hazard classes now apply to existing substances. From 1 November 2026, substances already on the EU market must be classified and labelled for endocrine disruption, PBT/vPvB and PMT/vPvM under Delegated Regulation (EU) 2023/707. The work rarely stops at one substance. A single reclassification can require updates to every mixture that contains it above the concentration limit, the safety data sheets for those mixtures, the labels that ship with them, and the REACH registration dossier. Because the new classes carry no pictogram, outdated labels are easy to miss in a standard label review. This guide from Certivo explains the four new hazard classes and the eight new EUH hazard statements. It covers the full transition timeline through the 1 May 2028 deadline for existing mixtures, which industries are most exposed, and a six-step approach for inventorying substances, mapping affected mixtures, regenerating SDSs and labels, and reconciling REACH dossiers.
