Selling packaged goods into Denmark? Packaging extended producer responsibility (EPR) has been fully in force since 1 October 2025. Any company that first makes packaging available on the Danish market is treated as the producer, regardless of size. This guide explains how to register with Dansk Producentansvar (DPA), when to appoint an authorised representative if you have no Danish establishment, and why membership of a producer responsibility organisation is mandatory for single-use packaging. It covers the annual DPA reporting deadline of 31 May for the previous calendar year, and the 8-tonne threshold that decides whether you report total weight or break quantities down by material. It also explains how DPA fees and eco-modulated scheme contributions work. Finally, it shows how the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), which has applied since 12 August 2026, adds design, recycled content and labelling requirements on top of Danish reporting duties.
