The Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (EU) 2025/40 (PPWR) establishes new requirements which force businesses to change their packaging compliance processes throughout Europe. All packaging must demonstrate recyclability through technical documentation which meets EU design-for-recycling standards by the year 2030. For CEOs, CFOs, and regulatory leaders, this requirement functions as a market access risk which extends beyond environmental obligations. Organizations that do not possess validated recyclability evidence or certified recycled content data or PFAS compliance documentation will face complete exclusion from all 27 EU member states.
