PMKVY (Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana) is an initiative through which the Government of India provides skills and training to India’s youth according to industry relevance. Making India’s youth employed and improving their livelihood is one of the main objectives of this scheme. PMKVY was launched on 15 July 2015, on the day of World Youth Skills Day. Many more phases of this scheme were also launched (PMKY 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0) so that its reach and scope could increase further. The main aim of this scheme is to provide training in a short duration and give monetary incentives for skill certification. This scheme is being operated under the MSDE (Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship).
