Fertility is often discussed as though it were a simple, universal process. But anyone who has experienced fertility challenges knows that the journey can be deeply personal and complex. Two people may share similar concerns and still have very different health histories, lifestyles, stress levels and underlying factors affecting their reproductive health. This is one reason personalised care is an important part of the Ayurvedic approach to fertility. Rather than following a single plan for everyone, Ayurveda looks at the individual as a whole. Traditional Ayurvedic assessment may consider a person’s constitution, known as Prakriti, current imbalances, digestion, diet, sleep, stress and daily routine. For couples trying to conceive, both partners may be included in the assessment because reproductive health is not only a women’s health concern.
