From the ancient Greek concept of fate to modern quantum mechanics, humanity has never ceased to ask: Is the world dominated by chance or ruled by necessity? The Galton pegboard offers a strikingly simple dialectical answer—it is both a magnifying glass for randomness and a developer of regularity. The path of each peg is an unrepeatable coincidence, yet their collective behavior precisely follows the necessity of a normal distribution. This duality of "microscopic randomness, macroscopic determinism" is the core paradigm for modern science's understanding of complex systems. Our "Probability Theater" installation (2000×1900×2100mm) staged this thought experiment.
